Persia Beheshti.
Lives and works in Berlin, Germany.
Beheshti is a multi-media artist working with installations and moving images to investigate elemental forces that shape the order of things. In her work, she creates an interplay between metaphysics and mysticism to explore otherworldly and ethereal subject matter, constructing an allegorical domain of alternate realms and realities. Persia’s film, ‘Wetlands’ (2019), an intimate documentation of mermaid performers in the USA, merges water mythology with mermaid folklore. The film was selected for Water Docs Festival (2020) and Lebanese International Film Festival – LIFF (2021). Recent exhibitions include ‘Law & Order’ (Kulturfolger, Zurich 2021).
