Wafa Hourani, b. 1979, Hebron, Palestine.
Lives and works between Palestine and Bahrain.
Hourani graduated from the School of Art and Cinema in Tunis. He first directed films before shifting to visual production in 2006. Deeply marked by the Israeli–Palestinian conflict and the future of the Middle East, Hourani has developed work that reveals the social, political and economic context of life in Palestine. Using photography and sculpture, he has been creating environments that reveal a reality in which past and future are intrinsically linked.
Hourani’s work was exhibited in international institutions in Germany, France, Belgium, Lebanon, Italy, Greece, Palestine, Kuwait, Qatar, Turkey and the USA.
